How to share your trial Squarespace website
If you want to share your Squarespace trial website with a friend or a colleague for feedback before purchasing a website plan, here are two ways you can do it.
Set your Site Availability to Password Protected
By default, when you start a website trial on Squarespace, your website’s Site Availability is set to Private. To make your site publicly available, you have to purchase a website subscription from Squarespace.
However, if you want to share your website with a select group of people for feedback or review before you purchase your website subscription, you can do that by setting your Site Availability in Settings to Password-Protected. When you do this, you will be asked to set a site-wide password. Please note that this password should be different from your login password.
Once this is done, you can share your trial website URL (without the /config at the end) along with the Site Availability password and they would be able to view your brand new creation and share feedback! This method is also useful if you want to test your trial website on other devices like phones or tablets.
Invite them to your website as a Viewer
One drawback with the above method is that the person with whom you’ve shared your trial website can only view the pages that are linked from the main navigation or from within the main pages. If you have any pages in the Not Linked section of your website panel, these remain hidden from their view.
If you want to give someone access to only “view” your website from within the Squarespace website editor, you can do that by adding them as a contributor to the website with Viewer permissions. Go to Settings->Permissions->Invite Contributor, enter their name and email address, and choose Viewer permissions for their account. You can learn more about Squarepace permissions here. When they no longer need access, you can remove them as a contributor from the site.
